How to protect your operating system (Part 1)?

We need to make sure that our operating system like Microsoft Windows being protected and secured at all times. If not, problems will arise due to threats such as viruses and malware. Some of my friends don't even equipped any protection measurement in their PC. It is the same with our body, if we practice healthy life style then our body will have a strong immune system.

Without further ado, let me introduce some software that will make your PC more secure and less vulnerable to threats. They are Anti-Virus, Internet Securities, Anti-Spyware, Fire-Wall, System Optimization Tools and Windows Update.

In this post, I will cover Anti-Virus and Internet Security. Anti-Spyware, Fire-Wall, System Optimization Tools and Windows Update will be explained in the next post.

Anti-Virus is the most common name everyone knows to install on their PC. But the important point is to choose a good Anti-Virus. I've also explained the comparison between Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security in this post. A good Anti-Virus comes from a good foundation-that is their definitions, we often call it the virus database. Without a virus definition in the database, the Anti-Virus will not be able to detect the virus that is residing in our PC. Even worst if the virus keeps multiplies itself without the ability for the Anti-Virus to bring it down.

Besides a good amount of virus definitions, the Update Team must fast enough to release the update so that users be able to update into their database. So here comes another point where an Anti-Virus must be able to update by itself automatically in the background anyplace and any time.

Currently, internet dominate the world where we can able to read news online to online banking and share trading. The growing of internet - the paperless method, often we call it electronically. Internet Security has been introduced to protect users that are often using internet to complete important matter such as making online banking transaction where bank account number has possibilities to be hacked by irresponsible person. Credit card information also can be stolen if we perform online shopping without any protection from Internet Security.
